Keep reading to learn more!
Mascara
Ask most women what their number one beauty essential is and chances are, mascara will be their answer. Mascara is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to achieve long, full looking lashes. But, it can have its downfalls. Mascara typically expires within 3-6 months. Expired mascara can lead to product flakiness, and so it can fall into the eyes and irritate them. This can cause serious damage to your eyes. Your mascara flaking off can also stick to your face and your makeup, which no girl likes. There are some signs you can look for in your mascara to tell if it is expired. Clumpy, bad smelling product is a sign you should throw the mascara away. Further, look for the PAO (Period After Opened) label near the barcode of a product. PAOs have an open product symbol with the number of months you should keep a product for. Make sure to be aware of this to protect your lashes and eyes from disaster!
Mascara is most commonly used in the traditional black color. However, you may want to opt for a neutral look with brown mascara that aids in a “clean-girl” aesthetic look. You can also switch up your looks with pops of color. Mascara comes in a variety of colors. This allows you to show your unique sense of style on your lashes! And lastly, you can always pair your mascara with a good quality eyelash curler, which can be used before or after application.
Eyelash Tints
Semi-permanent makeup can be extremely beneficial, especially for individuals on the go who need a little extra time to sleep in in the mornings. Most eyelash tints will also be waterproof; worrying about eye product smudging or smearing will not be an issue! Eyelash tints can last up to 4 weeks with proper care with one application. Lastly, lash tinting can save time and money for people that still want defined lashes without the hassle that comes with makeup. We recommend searching for an eyelash tint that has no hydrogen peroxide or synthetic dyes. This will help to protect your eyes in the coloring process, and it is better for sensitive skin. Godefroy's 28 Day Mascara has a black shade, and also a brown shade, if you're wanting a more subtle lash color.
Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash extensions have exploded onto the beauty scene in recent years. With extensions, you can customize the length and volume to your liking. When done at the salon, these extensions can stay on for 3-8 weeks with proper care. This will save you time getting ready in the mornings, but it can be expensive.
Once you have lash extensions, it's best to avoid irritating or applying friction to your eyes as it can loosen the adhesive. It is recommended that you use a gentle cleanser on the lashes to prevent dust and dirt from collecting and causing premature lash shedding.
Lastly, you will need to keep up with getting regular lash fills. A typical fill is necessary every other week to keep your lashes looking full. Also, lash extensions may not be the best option for those who are low maintenance and may have a tighter budget. Experts say that the average cost for a full set of classic lashes is around $160, while a refill can cost around $70.
Fake Lashes ("Falsies")
Fake lashes have been used for decades and are still one of the most popular ways to add volume and length to eyelashes. False eyelashes are synthetic lashes designed to make your eyes pop. They’re attached to your eyelid just above your natural lashes, and are applied by swiping eyelash glue on the lash and forming it to your lash line once the glue becomes tacky. Fake lashes can range anywhere from $2 to $30 depending on the quality, and some have the potential to be reused !Fake lashes are great to have on hand when you know you will be wearing full-glam makeup for a photo-shoot or maybe going out for a nice dinner.
