There are some signs you can look for in your mascara to tell if it is expired. Clumpy, bad smelling product is a sign you should throw the mascara away. Further, look for the PAO (Period After Opened) label near the barcode of a product. PAOs have an open product symbol with the number of months you should keep a product for. Make sure to be aware of this to protect your lashes and eyes from disaster!

Eyelash Extensions

When done at the salon, these extensions can stay on for 3-8 weeks with proper care. This will save you time getting ready in the mornings, but it can be expensive.  

Once you have lash extensions, it's best to avoid irritating or applying friction to your eyes as it can loosen the adhesive. It is recommended that you use a gentle cleanser on the lashes to prevent dust and dirt from collecting and causing premature lash shedding. 

Lastly, you will need to keep up with getting regular lash fills. A typical fill is necessary every other week to keep your lashes looking full. Also, lash extensions may not be the best option for those who are low maintenance and may have a tighter budget. Experts say that the average cost for a full set of classic lashes is around $160, while a refill can cost around $70.

Fake Lashes ("Falsies")

Fake lashes have been used for decades and are still one of the most popular ways to add volume and length to eyelashes. False eyelashes are synthetic lashes designed to make your eyes pop. They’re attached to your eyelid just above your natural lashes, and are applied by swiping eyelash glue on the lash and forming it to your lash line once the glue becomes tacky. Fake lashes can range anywhere from $2 to $30 depending on the quality, and some have the potential to be reused !Fake lashes are great to have on hand when you know you will be wearing full-glam makeup for a photo-shoot or maybe going out for a nice dinner.
