Step 2
Apply The Tint

Step 3
Let It Sit

Step 4
Rinse Thoroughly
For this application, we will be using the Hair Tint Kit by Godefroy. Prior to using this kit, it is important to perform an allergy test. While rare, allergic reactions can occur. Prepare a test solution using a color capsule and equal parts of the developer (approximately half a cap full). Mix in a small plastic or glass bowl. Apply a light coating to a small area on the inside of your arm. Let the area dry naturally. Do not wash area for 24 hours. If redness, itching, or any other irritations occurs, immediately wash the area with mild soap and water and do not use this product.
A few tips to remember before you start...
- Tint Kit is deposit only, meaning you can only go darker or cover gray. The longer you leave the product on the hair the darker it will get. So if you have dark brown hair and want to cover gray, only purchase the dark brown color.
- Tint Kit is not FDA approved for use around the eyes; you should not tint your brows with it. Our Instant Eyebrow Tint uses a gentle formula which is usable around the eyes.
- Tint Kit comes in 2 sizes = 4 application, and 20 application. Each application lasts up to 6 weeks, so with the 20 app. it should last you at least a year.
- You must use the creme developer that is included with the kit. Do not mix it with shampoo instead or a developer you already have. It will not color the hair without it.
Step 1: Mix!!!
Begin by mixing equal parts of tint capsules with the crème developer provided in your kit. Use the mixing dish that comes with your kit to blend the two until you achieve a smooth, consistent paste. This ensures that the color develops properly. For small areas of color (approximately 1 to 2 inches diameter) you can use 1 capsule. For larger areas of grey, like the hairline or your facial hair, add 2 or more capsules.
Step 2: Apply The Tint
Before you begin to tint, make sure your hair is clean and dry. It is important to remove any oil from your hair; this will allow for better color processing. Then, you will apply the mixed hair color from roots to ends. Processing times range from 1-4 minutes, based on the color selected.
Step 3: Let It Sit
Processing times vary depending on the color you have. For first time users it is best to process the color on the lower range of time. The longer the color processes the darker the results. If hair is a resistant gray you may want to process 1 to 2 minutes longer. Please allow the color to process as follows:
- Light Brown = 1-2 minutes
- Medium Brown = 1-2 minutes
- Dark Brown = 1-2 minutes
- Natural Black = 2-3 minutes
- Graphite = 2-3 minutes
- Jet Black = 3-4 minutes
Step 4: Rinse & Examine Results
After letting it process, rinse the area with warm water until all of the color is removed. Examine results when hair has dried. For darker results, reapply mixture and process until you have achieved the desired color. If hair has resistant grays you may want to process 1 to 2 minutes longer. Enjoy up to 6 weeks of bold color :)
